The people with the most wrinkles and scars most likely have had an interesting journey, just like worn down old buildings. We passed by this building in Myers Flat, CA multiple times and saw the potential of what it could be.
“It’s what’s on the inside that matters” - Someone’s mother once said, “don't judge a book by it’s cover” and the same applies to people and architecture.
Creepy, dirty, rundown, ugly, and tired are what come to mind when we first embarked upon a journey of taking a neglected building and making it our own.
With our DIY spirit and modest budget, we roped in a crew of friends to help us with the dirty work. Enticing them with pizza and beer, they helped breathe new life into the facade of this old Shell Gas Station.
